Sus
Weighing in at up to 400 lbs, the Texas feral hog is a hunt like no other. Although they have poor eyesight, the perceptive, large snout of the hog is amazingly sensitive, with equally sensitive hearing to keep them alert to the environment around them. Luckily, our expert guides at LONE OAK ADVENTURES know just how to track these impressive beasts without alerting them to your presence.
More About The Hog:
The feral hogs here are anything but picky eaters – if it’s edible, it’s going into their belly.
Active around dawn and dusk, hogs are one hunt that’s a good nighttime outing. They have extremely sensitive snouts- so covering up is highly important.
Hogs breed like, well, pigs – and have an average lifespan of about five years
The hog can make itself comfortable in pretty much any terrain, but much prefer to be near watering holes and dense vegetation.
The hogs grow upwards of 400 lbs, with the males significantly larger than the females, with four continuous growing tusks.
Wild hogs are pack animals who prefer to amble about during the day and get down to serious eating after dark.
